In vitro culture
So this week, I got to do some sterelization as well as some DNA identification. Sterelization is a task that I have come to feel quite comfortable with doing, and so I even got to do it without constant supervison. I also was introduced to the plantform, which is a new recent technique that is being tested in the in vitro culture. Other than that, nothing else much has taken place in the vitro culture.
I was asked to prepare a presentation about the canadian perspective on bussiness and I was quite stressed for I have no knowledge on this subject was so ever. Not only that, but there was also this lady who's job is to give seminars on the fact that starting your own bussiness can be done at any age. She had a large view and was able to communicate better with the students. I do speak polish, but not as fluently as here, therefore, i felt this bigger language barrier between me and the other students. I was however allowed to do my presentation in english, which made it so much easier for me.
So it was my last week working at the social department, and I was yet again asked to prepare some documents for another meeting for the citizen budget. However, what differed this time was that it was for the presidents of each city. On the other hand, I visited the wymennikownia, which is the youth center of the social department, and assisted to a stress relief activity. I spent 4 hours there with some high school students and we learned different ways of controlling our stress, and used different ways of seeying how stress affects our body. We also were able to see how our stress makes us react differently in certain situations.
